Who We Are
Kurtis Vanderpool - Intern
Hola, mi amigos and “Marhaba!” (Welcome!)
For those of you who do not know me yet, my name is Kurtis Vanderpool and I LOVE being here at the Wesley. Just a little bit about me, I am a senior this year studying Global Affairs and “enshallah” (God Willing) after graduation I will pursue a life of full-time international missions.
If you haven’t noticed, there are probably a few words here that you don’t recognize, and that’s because they are either Spanish or Arabic. I have a huge passion for learning multiple foreign languages but an even more fervent passion for people. I can play any sport all day like Ultimate Frisbee, Volleyball, or Soccer, or anything active, but what REALLY hits the core of who I am is deep, meaningful conversation with a good friend or a new acquaintance. I love being in a room with 100 other people or hitting up a silent spot with some tea, a good book, and my ipod. I also love traveling, especially since I spent this past summer studying abroad in Morocco and traveling to Spain (or Maghrib and Espana by their local names).
My most sincere prayer this year is that you feel welcome and find a family that will go with you an extra mile in pursuing true love, true life, and everything that comes with being in a real relationship with Christ (Matthew 5:41). That is what the Wesley has been for me these past 3 years and so much more. So if you decide to check us out, I hope I will get the opportunity to meet you and discover what the Holy Spirit has already begun doing in your life. Hope to see you soon, and “Baraka Katheera!” (Many Blessings!)
