Penny Wilson - Director of Development and Administration

Penny Wilson - Wesley Foundation Texas Tech

Since June 2000 I have worn several different hats here at Wesley. The hat I wear proudly today is my passion and calling as the Director of Development and Administration. I am over our annual Phon-a-thon, Methodist Masters Golf Tournament and other fundraisers we choose to do throughout the year as well as keep the office running as smoothly and efficiently as possible. This position does have its challenges, but it is continually rewarding and such a blessing to serve Him at Wesley.

I have fraternal twin daughters who are totally, completely opposites and are freshman in high school, to say the least, we have lots of drama in our household .My husband, Michael is the part time custodian at Wesley where he has loved serving since June 2001, it is good therapy for him as his full time job is quite stressful and demanding.

I love people and college students and have a great desire to reach them to Christ. I have been renewed by God's love daily being just by being with college students. I am so thankful for my job and for the Wesley Foundation, it is such a blessing to students who need the foundation of Christ love in their college life and I am so glad to be a part of it. I love my church, St. Matthew's UMC where I serve on the praise and worship team, the mountains, enjoy peaceful times alone (a very rare occasion), enjoy playing the piano and worshipping Him anywhere and anytime.

Continue to support us as God leads you and know that the work for the

Kingdom is being done here at Wesley each and every day.

Heart for Ministry

People need the Lord, especially college students. As Al, our director says, "they come straight from the high school lunch room to COLLEGE." I never thought of it that way, but it is so true and it is such a major move for them in their lives and that is why I am called here to help them in that transition from high school to college life. I love college students! They are the next generation of our Christian leaders and I am so thankful to be such a great part of their journey shaping them for their future, for Christ in our world.

Heart for Worship

Many people do not realize my passion and heart for worship. When I worship I feel a connection immediately with God and the presence of the Holy Spirit in and around me. I want people to feel that same connection in worshiping Him wherever they are and however they wish to worship Him.

The Journey

Growing up in a Christian home and being a United Methodist all my life I thought I had it all together, but after being hired by Andy Hurst 11 years ago I realized I had been missing something in my Christian walk, knowing the true love of Jesus Christ. I came to know ultimate unconditional love for myself, other people and Jesus! A love I had never encountered in my life and had never known. College students brought me to the core of my being and the foundation in which God has planted in my soul.

Penny's Prayer

By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each builder should choose carefully how to build on it. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid; that Foundation is Jesus

Christ.
