Crazy Faith
Noah and his family have some crazy faith.
13 So God said to Noah, "I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth. 14 So make yourself an ark ........
A ya okay whatever God that sounds a bit harsh....Hmmm...He is actually serious about this. Think about what would go through your head if you were Noah. There had to be definite periods of doubting God. But you go through with it and build an ark. Then all these animals just start calmly showing up and line up to hop in with you. Noah believes and acts in faith. He probably had to sacrifice like all of his wages and resources to build such a big boat.
getting to KNOW God; i blame Saltshaker
I want to love God.
I want to attempt to love God as much as he loves us.
And how can I love God as much as he loves us, if I don’t know HOW he loves us?
I want to learn the How of God. I desire to KNOW God.
A Miracle That Needs to Be Told
This story is about a good friend of mine Ariel Johnson. Ariel is a freshman, but I have had the privilege of knowing her for the last few years through One Way Church Camps. Some of you know her for her amazing voice, some of you know her because she is black, and some of you know the amazing joy she brings to any friendship she has. Today, I want to tell you about the way God moved miraculously because of her simple devotion.
The Worries of a Worm
So today I was outside sitting in a chair breaking a pecan into pieces. As I watched each chunk of pecan, leaves, and twigs go out of my hand, I saw a worm. A tiny tiny little guy... Would something 20x your size falling from the sky about to hit you freak you out? Why isn't this worm scared to death? Why doesn't he have a heart attack and die?
Everyday life with God by my side!
Do we really feel like God is with us throughout the entire day?
How often do we go about our days and wonder when God is going to show us something miraculous? How often do we go about our days just wondering if God will talk to us today? Let me tell you ask you something. When was the last time you stopped listened and taken the time to notice the little things that God has presented us with. I believe that most of the BIG events come out of a huge build up of little ones. I would like you to take this time now and try something to start listening. Close your eyes and say these words. “Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.” (Psalms 25, 5) Take a few minutes to fully soak this in and really be aware of what is going on. Now there are three very important phrases in this sentence that I feel should be pointed out. Lead Me. Teach Me. On thee do I wait all the day. Now you may say to yourself ok I understand these first two but what does this last phrase mean. Let me go deeper and try to explain what I feel that this means.
