For me, I notice that in the midst of this weird onslaught, I have been able to do most of my job, but I have been tempted again and again to cancel those things which are most in my gifting and calling. (I have been given a calling: to share words from God with the weary so that they may be lifted up.) But instead of doing that, I think to become a salsa instructor because that is what I ‘feel’ I can do in recovery from the onslaught, is a wrong move. If you are going to do anything at all in your day, let the Holy Spirit fill you to speak to people. The lies that say I cannot be among people and that I should not counsel or speak – those are the first ones to reject.
Since I can do all things through Christ and since I am God’s loved child who is more than a conqueror, I see that means I can use my gifts and do my callings – despite any senses or feelings. You cannot much impact people if you are constantly avoiding them – Let grace abound through you. God will do what you feel you cannot. Don’t forfeit a game that God can easily win with just your simple presence.
The times that I have persevered have all turned out to be great blessings. My feelings apparently are not yet on board – my body still wrestles with each thing. But I am happy to be at work on this day. And I am happy that I have opportunities to be a jar near the staff and the leadership team. I have light and power within me. It is not to be kept to myself.
Was amazing to be reminded today that I am more than a conqueror. That it begins with the reality of God’s huge love for me – that makes me fall in love with me. That huge love also says loud and clear: I have won. I will win. I cannot lose.
Stick that in your thermos and chug it.
By the way, the car you drive says nothing about you. Unless you have one of those cars that parallel parks for you and steps on the brake for you and basically slaps you across the face when you are driving like an imbecile. Those cars say that you are lazy, you need to give more money to the poor, you are not attentive to what is right in front of you, you smell of cologne/perfume which bothers your co-workers, your hypothalamus is made of clay, you drink Starbucks coffee three times a day, you like to whittle yard gnomes out of oak and your teeth are made of styrofoam.
